Side Hill Lies
When playing the ball below your feet you have to change several
aspects of your set up to execute the shot. The first is alignment (1),
aim slightly left of your target as the downhill lie will
promote left to right ball flight for right-handers or the opposite for
lefties or slight fade. The second change is the posture, you must
accentuate your knee bend (2) as the ball is below your feet and if
you don’t you will hit the ball thin or top it. You will also want to reduce
your back swing to keep the club on line and reduce the chance of
lifting during the swing. If you reduce the swing, take an extra club
to maintain the distance you need. The other aspect to change is to
have the weight slightly towards the front (3)

your feet (front and back evenly) (3) You want to choke down on the
grip to reduce the distance between your hands and the ball.
